Mr_D: Why don't you make an account?
That art style is great.

emotionalsupportfluffy: @Mr_D I actually just made one, I didn't even know we could make accounts until after I posted though.

Anonymous1: But fluffies are NOT cute. They are more like wannabe-cutes; they do have a somewhat cute appearance (well, depending on the author), but their behaviour is not cute, is more like its designed to cause pity; for instance, all that stupid baby talk, like the fact they call death "fowebah sweepies", unless of course they do actually want to die, in that case they are more clear and actually say "wan die". (yes, I know that part varies per author, but it tends to be like that). Is like they intentionally talk like morons to gain your pity and perhaps take them home and give them "sketties".

Those are lame, hopeless creatures that depend on pity and sympathy in order to survive. Not cute at all.

emotionalsupportfluffy: @Anonymous: I actually agree. I remember first seeing fluffy ponies and finding them unbearably rage-inducing for a reason I couldn't figure out. That's indisputably how this entire community came to be, ngl. They're faux-cute and it's absolutely disgusting (and I'm a guy who can appreciate cuteness - I volunteer with puppies and kittens regularly, for Christ's sake).

Shprololol. Did you sOy that?

Anonymous3: @Anonymous: They're cuteness designed by committee in-universe, the exaggeration of adorable features (oversized eyes, fluffy fur, Ls and Rs as Ws, etc) instead induces in most people a combination feeling of revolting sense of saccharine and the uncanny valley.

Gardel: This is why I do mostly industrial/uncaring abuse, in my HC for business reasons fluffies are not real animals so they lack legal protections and because of that most of the abuse and suffering come from mistreatment, be it at the factories they are made, the medical centers where they are used for other applications, use for experiments, stores that simply destroy them if they cant be sold, and owners who get bored or tired of them and throw them away in the trash like an old toy they have no attachment to.

Anonymous4: Hmm, I do enjoy suffering of excessively cute (fictional) creatures, not limited to fluffies. And I've loved such things ever since I was a kid. But I don't remember being hurt in my childhood, nothing preceding my cruel interests at least... does it mean I was hurt as an infant?

Anonymous5: @emotionalsupportfluffy: Yeah, me too. I like anime, the cutest kind of animes, like slice of lifes and stuff. But fluffies are like you said, so rage inducing!

The_Neutralist: @emotionalsupportfluffy: The expression on the fluffy's when he (or she) gets clobbered absolutely sells this drawing

Guzziman: @Anonymous: Nah fluffies are cute, when they have their moments. It's quite rare to see anyone willing to depict a genuinely cute moment for fluffies these days.

@emotionalsupportfluffy: you say this community supposedly formed all around the idea that they are "rage inducingly fake 'cute'" but not everyone felt the same way. When I first started here about half the images were hugbox and the other half were abuse and there was a fuck ton of infighting in the comments between hugboxfags and abusefags. Naturally the hugboxfags got driven off but that's old news, like wicked old news.

fluffyhater88: I LOVE the conversations these kinds of posts start! :)

emotionalsupportfluffy: @Guzziman: That's wild. Abuse and hugbox both have important purposes, IMO. Especially in this sort of art-based community with writing and drawing, where so many people use the abuse to take out their anger on something - hugbox is just the opposite, to let people show something compassion (or build up to abuse). I'll probably end up posting a lot of both!

Anonymous6: @Guzziman: I remember when that was still going on when I joined some two years ago...
Damn time flys...

Waaaghlord: haha, wrong fluffy, because fuck you, that's why!

... that would/could only add some extra abuse...

always nice, when a good artist joins the site ^^

Anonymous8: I ran into fluffies like a week after my mother died. Gingerfig's stuff clicked with me then in a way nothing else did.
