MusntaMummah: I'm not using any particular headcannon i'm just going off what i normally see on the borru

Oculus: Aaaaah Tumbly's in danger!

Also, speaking, as a hugboxer (or rather, a general non-abuser) you've raised a criticism I've had regarding attitudes towards fluffies and their depictions.

Anonymous1: I agree with mummah, aware fluffy sufferment is the best

Anonymous2: You know, there's probably an alien species which looks at us like us look at fluffies.
And that scares me.

Oculus: @Anonymous: That concept was explored quite a bit in Lovecraft's fiction amongst others. Its also why I have a bit of empathy for the little guys. I would like to imagine that, just as there could be a cruel alien species, there might be an altruistic one as well. But who knows - the distances between goldilocks planets is a bitch.

MAVVET_CO: they're simply as intelligent as toddlers

LORD: @MusntaMummah: these are also the same creatures who believe huggies ad wub can magically fix anything, believe absolutely anything a human says to be the truth and only truth, speaks to its legs to run faster and that begging your legs to work/come back if its broke/cut off. So in my own opinion i would say yes, they are to stupid to live.

LORD: @Oculus: that is true, everyone has their right to their own headcanon, i was just pointing out some flaws with the “can we stop saying they are to stupid to live” because they are obviously not fit for anything other then a safe room. (But that also depends on headcanons)

Oculus: @LORD: I think, regardles of headcanons, what MM is pointing out is that Fluffies have *some* level of intelligence, even if they think in terms of 'wuv' and 'huggies'. I wrote a story about a fluffy finding a newborn and I realized the ways yhe common depiction of a fluffy is a bit more intelligent then a toddler. tl;dr there is A LOT that could be done with fluffies, imho.

Anonymous3: ... yeah, smarter then most animals yes ... but compared to humans ... pretty dumb and in most cases a really "simple mind"

though many humans probably make the mistake and overrated the fluffy intelligence for being able to speak and are disappointed when encountering the limits of those minds (though some also use this as an element of abuse)

in many canons fluffies have to "learn" a lot ... and when not done properly ... they could actually become too dumb to live...

LORD: @Oculus: I know that fluffies have some form of “higher” intelligence, i too have read stories of smart fluffies (and some with almost human intelligence). I fully agree with your tl;dr. that is why i love to hate fluffies.

Fuun: @MusntaMummah: About fluffy stupidity, I would like to point to this classic example: https://www.fluffybooru.com/post/view/18978 .

As Qui-gon Jinn says in The Phantom Menace "The ability to speak does not make you intelligent".

Oculus: @Fuun: That too is just one headcanon. The infamous headcanon that a fluffy pony drowns from the mere sight or mention of water.

Its not a canon that was meant to be takrn seriously. And if it was, it would make a lot of fluffy pony stories on this booru impossible. According to this canon, the fluffies in Fluffus's Star should have drowned the moment they saw the stream. Most fluffies would drown after getting a bath. And when it comes to following headcanons blindly, I have this to quote, from a much better Star Wars movie: "Who’s more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him?"
